Richard Llewellyn
Son of a local Bournemouth Solicitor, K G S Llewellyn, born and raised in Sturminster Marshall and attended Castle Court School, Mill Hill School and the College of Law. Qualified as a solicitor in the mid 1970’s following a period of traineeship in Poole and worked in London from 1972 until returning to Bournemouth in 1982.
Richard became a Partner with Marshall Harvey’s until 1992 and then a Principal with Roger Gomersall in Llewellyn Gomersall until Llewellyn Gomersall amalgamated with Horsey Lightly Fynn on 1st April 2007.
Richard has two children Anthony aged 21 who is just about to conclude his further education at Bournemouth Catering College where he hopes to specialise in a career in hotel management. His daughter Lucy is aged 18 and has just commenced her second term at the University of the Arts London studying fashion management.
Richard’s primary training following qualification was in probate trust administration taking into account Will construction and powers of attorney. This interest has continued and although in the mid 80’s and 90’s he undertook a great deal of domestic conveyancing and commercial conveyancing, now as a Consultant with Horsey Lightly Fynn he has returned to specialisation in this field as a Consultant in the private client department.
Personal interests: As many people are aware Richard is a keen rugby follower (like his father) and has been a player, supporter and member of Bournemouth RFC from 1965 to the present day. Presently he holds the position of Vice Chairman and Ground Manager having previously from 1972 until 1982 played rugby for the Old Mill Hillian RFC and been a committee member of the Middlesex RFU from 1978 until 1982. He has played rugby badly for both Dorset and Hampshire 15’s when they were desperately short! In addition when he was younger he played a few games of cricket for Bournemouth Wanderers.
As well as owning Welsh Rugby Union Debentures at Cardiff Arms Park he has recently taken up an interest with the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir and is a keen supporter. For many years Richard has been a keen gardener practising particularly in the vegetable patch.
