Michael Cook

Michael Cook Michael is a former designated family judge who is now a consultant on family matters. Before he was appointed a judge he was the senior partner of a firm of London solicitors with a large family practice, so he has unrivalled experience of family law and practice.

He is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), a collaborative lawyer (see www.collaborativefamilylawyers.co.uk) and has been a Law Society examiner in family law. He is the general editor of The Litigation Letter and a contributor to Cordery on Solicitors.

Michael is a past president of the London Solicitors Litigation Association and a founder member of Westminster and Holborn Law Societies. He is much in demand as speaker, including for the Law Society, the College of Law and commercial seminars and webinars for the profession.

He writes frequently on legal subjects including for The Times, the Civil Justice Quarterly and the Law Society.

His other family qualifications are five children and eleven grandchildren!
