Environmental Permits / Waste Management Licences
The regime surrounding authorisations to deal with waste changed somewhat in March 2008 and Waste Management Licences are now referred to as "Environmental Permits"
Essentially, a permit is required for any installation, such as a static crushing machine, any waste operation (for example, the landfill of waste) or mobile plant that is used for waste operations. There are some exemptions, particularly in relation to domestic properties. Tradesmen working at private homes do however have to comply with legal requirements in relation to disposing of waste that they produce.
Before a permit can be issued in relation to a plot of land, it will be necessary to obtain any relevant planning consent first. Our Planning Team have experience of making such applications and can assist if required.
Should you need to make an application for a permit, we can assist with by either working through the process with you or making the application on your behalf.
